A. Wiebecke-Gottstein: "-LUDIA" The title of this approximately 13-minute work is derived from the plural formation of the endings of the titles of 3 of the 4 movements: Praeludium, Interludium and Postludium. Basically, they are motivic-thematic compositions in the baroque spirit, but with an extended harmony, which nonetheless still remains clearly related to the keynote and fifth. The prelude is loud and powerful, while the basically two-part interlude follows playfully. The central movement is an instrumental chorale. With the postlude, the work ends in an ironic and humorous way. Instrumentation: flute, oboe, clarinet in B flat, bassoon (double instrumentation if necessary, so two copies will be supplied); 2 horns, 2 trumpets in B flat, 2 trombones, tuba, timpani and percussion (one player each), violins 1 and 2, violas, cellos and basses (recommended maximum line-up: 10/10/8/6/3).

KD von Dittersdorf: Double Bass Concerto in A major This is the other, lesser known double bass concert from Dittersdorf. Nevertheless, it is just as typical of this epoch, but perhaps not quite as brittle as the E major concerto. This version, transposed to sound like A major, is slightly shortened and, through the use of the higher registers, emphasizes the vocal qualities of the double bass more. The material consists of flute 1, flute 2, oboe 1, oboe 2, horn 1, horn 2, 5 x violin 1, 5 x violin 2, 3 x viola and 3 x basso.
