A. Wiebecke-Gottstein: “Kleznacht” Percussion 1 + 2

Note: This article only contains the percussion voices 1 + 2!

"Kleznacht" uses melodies from German-language Christmas carols, but changes them with new rhythms and meters and by underlaying them with scales from "Klezmer" music instead of the original major or minor scales.
The music was originally arranged and recorded for nyckelharpa, double bass and guitar, with some pieces featuring various percussion instruments. For this sheet music edition, an attempt was made to generalize the parts so that they should also be playable on other instruments. The first voice is therefore intended for a higher instrument and the second voice for a lower instrument. If the tonal range of the instruments used deviates from the notation, the performers themselves have to consider sensible transpositions. For the various transposing instruments, both melody parts are available in C, Bb and Eb transpositions. Some pieces have double stops. For monophonic instruments it is recommended to play the lower notes as short grace notes to the upper notes.
The percussion voices are suggestions only. They can be occupied, changed or supplemented as desired. Using the chord progressions notated in the guitar part, you can add more instruments or replace the guitar with another chord instrument.
